ARCADE MODE
Introducing Arcade mode, the new old way to play

Do you remember back when games often came with an Arcade style mode? You're reading about this game on a Neocities website, so I'm going to guess probably yes.
Arcade mode would generally run you through a list of battles until you lost or finished them all, saving your scores on a leaderboard Basically like modern roguelikes, except for the whole bit where you progress a little between runs.
Since it won't actually be too much work and since speedrunners need a mode to play too (and different categories to run), I've decided to add an arcade mode to Eternal Skies.
It will be structured based on a classic arcade game we all know and love: Mario Kart

Okay, maybe Mario Kart isn't QUITE an arcade game, but we're basing the arcade structure on the classic Mario Kart cup system.
Cup Details
There will be at least 16 cups: One for each of the 8 major gods that appear in game, one for each of the 6 colors, a boss rush, and a cup of all enemies in the game.
These can be unlocked either through completing the corresponding city or god in the story mode, or through winning the previous cup in arcade mode. This allows the arcade mode to be an alternative to those who don't want to play the story but still want to fight all the battles.
You must play through each battle in a cup without stopping or altering your deck. You may be allowed a sideboard and to slightly alter the deck between battles, but I haven't decided if I will make a sideboarding system yet.
Your arcade runs will be tracked and stored in leaderboards in at least three categories: Score, Time, and Cards Played. This allows you to rank on overall ability, speed, and efficiency.
And that's all! Just another way to play the game for the people who don't want dialogue or a plot. Or for speedrunners.
